Homepage for Catrax Inc. and Lytle Johnson
Last updated 13 April 2010
Update note: Added a video and notes about the North Star aircraft. It's
DONE!
Catrax Inc. is a Washington corporation providing technical services. Current
activities include software development (embedded realtime applications, digital
signal processing, general software support) and aviation services (pilot services,
A&P mechanic services, and small-scale development of specialized aircraft
gadgets). I am Lytle Johnson, president and principal technician. I've been
developing software for many years, primarily for embedded real-time applications
with an occasional application for larger machines. My formal education is in
engineering and applied mathematics. I've been doing aviation for even more
years, starting with a 3rd place in Junior FAI Gas free-flight at the 1958 Nationals
at Glenview Naval Air Station, Glenview, IL.
- North Star first flight. A wmv video,
about 3.6Mb. Notice the HID wig-wag flashers. Landing was made with backpressure
on the stick because the trim wheel became unscrewed in flight and had fallen
on the floor, hence no more nose-up trim. Fixed before next flight.
- Utah spring 2007. Flying
the Utah back country, complete with airstrip and camping pictures, not to
mention the accompanying textual drivel.
- Awos is a little black cat that I found in
a woodpile in McCall, ID in May 2003. He was a fuzzy tiny ball of fur that
came hopping over to me on my bicycle and went home in my backpack.
- Floatplane trip, Fairbanks to Kenmore Air
Harbor, late September 2003. Ice didn't melt off plane in Fairbanks til almost
noon. Bad weather on Gulf coast. Nice day in Southeast. Stayed overnight at
the New York hotel in Ketchikan, by way of Sitka. Headwind all the way.
- Resume
- NorthStar airplane (it's
starting to LOOK like an airplane now!!)
- Miscellaneous Decatur pictures.
Don and Sharon's RANS-6S Coyote II, flowers, driftwood.
- Truckin'
from Decatur to Poplar Grove The rented 26,000-lb GVW truck making its
way across the northern plains
