Dolphin Bay Bicycles is located at the ferry terminal on Orcas
Island, a small island in the San Juan Archipelago. Orcas Island
offers ideal terrain for mountain biking, as well as miles of
pavement for hilly, challenging road rides.
As a part-time business education teacher at the local high school, I started Dolphin Bay Bicycles in 1992 as a class project. Several students interested in both cycling and small business managment learned about business operation by participating in the bike shop's record keeping, ordering and retail sales.
We now have the most complete selection of high end bicycles and components in the San Juan Islands, including Merlin, Specialized, Merckx and Cenelli. We also have the most reasonably priced and well maintained rentals in the Islands. Myself and all employees are avid cyclists - road, mountain and BMX - and are well respected authorities on all aspects of cycling - recreational, competitive and touring.
