Gunwales are bent around a pair of deckbeams, which were half-lapped from 2x4 stock.
Gunwale ends are fastenedwith glue and screws to beveled endblocks that serve in the place of capniaq.This is seen at the right end of the gunwales. A stretcher was used to separate the gunwales before the deckbeams were installed.
