The new Qayaq barely fit in the classroom we were using as a shop, and I was using cheap disposable cameras bought at Wayne Hill's store. Without a wide angle lens I could never get far enough back to get a shot of the whole kayak. This crudely re-mastered pastiche is offered instead. |

Changes to the prototype might include making a single longer cockpit. We'd make the back rim rounded next time for sure. Once we figure out some other details we'll add wheel steering and remote controls, probably a larger auxillary tank too. Standard Eskimo equipment for this qayaq would include some tarps, a stove, an ax and shovel. Raingear is often just left in the boat. Anyone venturing out would pack food, water, lots of matches and extra clothes even for a day trip. |
