Here's a 16 foot umiak/dory/ that was built last winter.
It weighs just under 100 lbs. Construction is the latest
refinement of the hybrid bent-rib types as typified by "Sumiak",
mainly fewer floor timbers, further apart. Chines were brought up
on top of the keel for fastening rather than remaining parallel to it.
This makes for a cleaner, sharper entry.

The "dragon" projection on the stem head does have some all-seeing eyes
but mainly functions as a grip for lifting.
