A Few Early Pictures of Our Time in Bangkok

Home

We stopped in Bangkok three times at the beginning, middle, and end of the trip.  We were joined by Tim and Nung during the second time.  The picture above is from the balcony of our room at the Marriott where we stayed all three times.

The Marriott was great with a helpful staff, great rooms, a nice pool and two boats that ran every fifteen minutes directly to the city center and a terminal stop for the overhead railway.  It was both relaxed and removed, and still very convenient to everything.

Tim and Nung took us to a great Thai barbeque where Nung ordered us a feast.  As with many Thai restaurants, we ate outside and the food was prepared in the open within the restaurant.  Also as with most restaurants, it was very  clean, and the food was great.

One Sunday morning we met Tim and Nung at Victory square for a trip to Bangkok's huge weekend market.  It may have been the hottest day we spent in the country, but was still lots of fun.

Beautiful teak carvings at a shop where I bought a really nice elephant and rhino carving for my collection.

Did I mention that it was hot?
