One afternoon Jerome and I took Gene and Erin to swim in the Mekong |
|
|
It was the end of the dry season and the river was at near record lows, threatening the fish populations on which the people are very dependent and a number of endangered species including a very unique type of dolphin that is unique to the Mekong. For Gene and Erin that meant a long walk to the water, lots of sand to play in, and hey there was still enough water to swim in...just have to look out for the long lines of hooks drifting by behind the fishing boats.
Mud!
Fishing boats drifting by. Thailand on the far shore.
What a sandbox! Vientaine in the distance.
