1. The dorsal fin of an adult male like L41, born in 1977, is comparibly much larger than of females and juveniles. Male killer whales start to develop their larger dorsal fins at about the age of 11-13 years. |
2. Look at the pigmentation patterns on the underside of the bodies of male L1, estimated to be born in 1959, and a female (right). |
