MISSION STATEMENT - Sakya Kachöd Chöling was established in 1986 on San Juan Island in Washington State under the direction of Sakya Jetsun Chimey Luding. It's purpose is to house Buddhist and Non-Buddhists alike in a peaceful, supportive environment.

In addition, the Sakya Society holds teaching events, sponsors guest speakers and cultural programs both at the Gompa and in Friday Harbor. We also support the cause of the displaced Tibetan people, who's unique and valuable culture is so endangered.
