After School Study Club

  • Served 48 students, more than 10% of the elementary school population during the fall,  winter and spring terms.  Students showed great progress as they developed important study skills, greater confidence and pride in their academic skills. Students were able to focus for longer periods of time. Some could tell what method of studying had helped them the most. There was an improvement in writing skills and brainstorming writing ideas. Many students were able to increase the length of time they read silently. 378-5209
“Students involved in after school programs get better grades, attend school more and have improved behavior.  They also express greater hopes for the future, more interest in school”, Ed Week, 10/2000
