Lopez Island Family Resource Center:
Family Support Services - In it’s new building, LIFRC has served
74 families through this program providing or linking the families
to help with basic needs: food, clothing, dental, utilities, transportation,
and holiday help. The LIFRC served 56 families this year through
the Readiness to Learn Program, helping Lopez students achieve better
classroom results. 468-4117

family support programs also, over the long term, can lead to:
fewer teenage pregnancies, less juvenile delinquency, improved
behavior and performance of children at school, fewer incidents
of child abuse and neglect, more families moving from welfare to

and parenting skills among parents, greater educational attainment
