Last year Orcas Montessori offered monthly tuition assistance to five families and emergency scholarships to two families during  difficult times. For the last three years, rising living costs have increased the number of families asking for tuition assistance. Families who make too much money to qualify for state and federally funded assistance programs, but not enough to afford preschool tuition payments are in a difficult spot.
