Preschool/Kindergarten Transitions

Bridging the gap for preschoolers and their families: Transitions is a summer program that provides families whose children are entering kindergarten with intensive one-on-one experiences to prepare them for their entry into kindergarten. Prior to this program, participating children and their families expressed anxiety about entering kindergarten. Participation greatly reduced their anxiety. In addition, for example, prior to the program, no parents of former Head Start students attended the Back to School night. After instituting this program, 100% of Head start parents attended Back to School night. 378-5209
