These records have been abstracted from "Marriage Records and Death Records 1816-1849 copied from the Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania Newspapers" by Jeanne E. S. Harrington [Mrs. D. C. Harrington], 1922. There were no marriage or death returns for 1823. Thus,
if you suspect a marriage or death occurred in 1823, it probably, in fact, did. Placing the records in alphabetical order makes them much easier to use, and enables us to get a better picture of possible family groups and relationships. Please, when searching
for individuals, do check alternate spellings. Any mistakes are surely mine -

Old Delta Cemetery
Driftwood Drive
Western, NY

The graves in this cemetery were moved here around 1910 from several areas in and around the village of Delta. This cemetery is not in very good condition and many stones are lying on the ground unseen. The area is covered with vines and weeds and it is very hard walking. The stones found were copied on October 12, 1998 by Kathleen Last. There probably are several more stones buried under the weeds as it is impossible to cover the entire area. Inscriptions and added information with " * " were taken from a handwritten list stamped "Asst. Genealogical Chairman, Eastern States Mission", no date indicated.
